Beside the Upper Spine
Spot 1 of 4"Hunching keeps the muscles beside the spine on a long stretch. Slow rolling may help them feel softer."
How to do it
Two finger widths out from the spine, between the top and the middle of your shoulder blades. Work a short strip, from level with the top inner corner of the blade down to about the middle of the blade. No reach? Put a tennis ball between your back and a wall or doorframe, lean in and bend your knees a little to roll it onto the spot. Or ask a friend to press with their thumbs. Roll the ball slowly up and down the strip, a few centimetres at a time.

Safety note:Stay on the muscle beside the spine, never on the bumps of the spine itself. Tingling or numbness down an arm, or any chest pain, means stop and see a doctor. Skip broken skin, bruises, rashes or swelling.
